The Pre-Trade Checklist is a premium feature designed to help you quickly assess whether a stock is aligned with Chaikin's bullish criteria. It simplifies the "weight of the evidence" approach by summarizing key technical and fundamental indicators in one place. This tool is especially helpful for traders who want a fast, visual confirmation of a strong setup.

What It Does

The checklist looks at six key signals from the Chaikin Chart to help assess whether a stock has the potential to outperform the broader market:
 

Strength Indicators

Power Gauge Rating – What does our model say about the stock? A Bullish or Very Bullish rating is preferred.

Relative Strength vs SPY – This shows if our analysis sees the stock performing better than the overall market. Green means it’s showing strong performance compared to the S&P 500.

Industry Strength – Is the stock in a strong industry? Found at the top of the chart, this shows if the sector is providing a tailwind.

Timing Indicators

Overbought/Oversold  – Helps you time entries. The Chaikin OB/OS tool uses a scale of 1 to 100:

• Wait: Stock is over 70 – overbought and may be due for a pullback.
• Neutral: Between 30 and 70 – stock is in the middle of its typical range.
• Early: Below 30, but still trending down in the OB/OS indicator.
• Optimal: Below 30 and starting to trend upward in the OB/OS indicator – often the best entry zone.

Long-Term Trend – Is the stock in a sustained technical uptrend? Referenced by the blue/orange long-term trend line.

Chaikin Money Flow Persistency – Is there consistent buying pressure from institutional investors? This looks at the Money Flow strength over the last three months.

How to Interpret the Results

If all six indicators are green, the stock may present a high-probability bullish setup. The more green signals, the stronger the overall case. However, the Power Gauge Rating and Relative Strength vs SPY are considered the most important. All six working together creates the strongest scenario.
